Heh, as mentioned, the trip is optional. And to clarify, we do cover airfare and some lodging -- but people have wildly different preferences when it comes to food and lodging overall (eg, some people prefer to splurge on one and skimp on the other) so we just try to pay well and allow people to make their own decisions as to how to spend it.
