I prefer pets. I also give my server silly names. I think the cattle not pets crowd art partly to blame in ruining the fun of computing.

I don’t think in terms of servers, I think in terms of applications

Applications are my pets. Servers are the pens I keep them in. Pets are precious, pens are replaceable.
