This rings true especially for people in senior positions. The higher you go, the less the technology matters, and soft skills become more valuable. Is mentoring a junior dev more about the specific language, or the ability to communicate and guide someone?


I sort of agree, but not fully. I think if deep technology details don't really matter, then the person should be more of a technical project manager or an architect, not a senior developer.
