I think some have assessed you are a snarky little fucker.

EDIT: big fucker I should say

You have a 'truly cryptic' way of thanking people for their time & effort /sarcasm

tptacek is a breath of fresh air in this trucrypt funk.

They would become Starman.

this site is so full of pussies who dont get a joke

I use Dashlane as well, have for about 2 years now, I love the app as an extension in firefox and the mobile app with secure notes.

Hmm, you ever been to India? Alot of developers there are forced into development by their families and don't get paid much while taking care of not only their immediate family but their retired father and his family. Granted what he did was wrong, I do understand this developer's plight. 10K people per square mile is alot of competition where good work is.

Hmm, you ever been to India?

Yes I have. There are plenty of middle class people and most technically educated developers are among them. There are also a lot of tech companies hiring.

I apologize for implying you didn't understand the culture by asking if you have been there, I didn't mean that in any way.

In any case, alot of my family are middle class and can't find decent jobs. The competition is very high and programmers are a dime a dozen. Technically educated doesn't mean they enjoy it. Most consider it a job to get by. Some find it to be a passion. The ones who see it as a paycheck are far more likely to rip a site off and the culture is such that it doesn't seem wrong. "Someone else's problem."

I guess now it's his problem... ripping someone off and then complaining about being called on it is pretty silly in my opinion, regardless of what your motivations are for working, particularly in a competitive environment such as the one you describe.

Runs faster in memory, allegedly.

Yep, cut my teeth on this book. I seriously hope all aboard are OK. I hated that she decided to not contribute to future editions for this trip.

I agree. I buy local from the farmer's market and I buy raw and fresh, I have lost more weight just eating like a caveman than any fad diet has done for any of my co-workers or friends. The following is ideal for me:

1. raw/fresh food 2. general fitness every day 3. intermittent fasting once or twice a week

Food has a lasting effect on the body, some of which science is yet to understand, I'll stick with what I can hunt and pick from the wild.

Who in their right mind has little kids near a protest? Saw what appeared to be a man wiping a little girl's eyes.

I don't condone violence on any level and I am all for protesting but I would leave the kids with someone I trust and somewhere safe (if that is at all possible).

If I get even an inkling unrest is occurring I would immediately get my daughter to safety (again, if that is at all possible).

Sometimes the protest comes near you. Tourists have been kettled in Montreal just walking out of a restaurant or in a park, held for hours without charges laid. It happened quite often last spring.

Also: you're rather quick to judge the parents, yet say nothing about the police that presumably fired at the child. Nice victim blaming.

Hence the comments at each end of my sentence - if at all possible. Nice quick to judgment yourself there, sport.

You can always quit if your morale compass is that damn good.

That's exactly the point. That happens, now who is left running the show?

I can definitely see how this could make people more sick, though I work in an open office and I rarely get sick, could be genetics or it could be that I eat food grown locally, work out and run every day and generally have alot of fun outside of work.

The human body NEEDS to get sick to build anti-bodies - without these then you will get sick more often. The American way of "Take antibiotics or medicine as soon as you get sick!" is one of the worst habits of my beloved American people (and fast food).

Curious, do you get much sun? Vitamin D definciency commonly results in sickly people too.

You don't need much. National Institutes of Health recommends 5-30 minutes of daytime exposure, twice a week. [1]

Yes, we need several minutes of strong (near noon-time) sun across a significant portion of the body. More if you don't drink fortified milk. Winter and old age increase the need.

These days it is common for people to avoid the sun and use excessive sunscreen if they do; geeks are not known for their tans. But a few minutes sunbathing is definitely beneficial.

The govt is a tad behind on this, but it has recently upped the recommendations.

Sorry but I don't trust anything with .gov to tell me what my body can already tell me. We have to learn to listen to it.

> tell me what my body can already tell me

Your body doesn't always exhibit signs of something wrong, and there are many instances in which that's it's true and it's too late to take action. I had to get a birthmark removed from my back last summer because it could've been a malignant type of skin cancer. I certainly didn't "feel" anything from it, and wouldn't have known about it until a dermatologist pointed it out to me.

Should have gotten a double mastectomy, that would have made more sense.

I do get quite a bit of sun, most of my fun is outside.
