I know. I feel troubled for all providers. (I have never used Grok, for example, for obvious ethical reasons.) But Anthropic seems, currently, better than OpenAI. I always want to encourage the better behaviour and discourage the worst.
People forget Anthropic made a deal with PALANTIR. And when this was caught, they just spinned the PR to their favor. While OAI may not be seen as the good guys, I really hope people see the god complex of Dario and what Anthropic has done.

Palantir is a glorified data aggregation/data visualization platform. Hooking up Claude to different data systems, with safeguards turned on in Claude Gov, is different than what the government is asking from them now. Similar to if the government had Claude hooked up to Tableau/some salesforce derivative and then asked it to be autonomous in the kill loop/spy on US citizens.
"Glorified" is underselling it. Thier ability to microtarget anyone based on any trait is basically the death of democratic discourse. Now, if you're saying the data is just there for anyone to do this, you're correct, and society needs to understand that and what it means.
That is not how Gotham works. The data you're talking about is most definitely not "just there" for anyone to have. The data is provided by the military and IC, Gotham is the data viz layer to make sense of it all. It does nothing on its own.
In the same way operating systems are used on occasion to kill people. My point stands, you don't understand what palantir does. Palantir (Gotham) is a glorified data analytics platform. Gotham does nothing without the privileged data feeds that the IC provides. All Gotham does is process the collected data provided by the military and IC. Palantir is only a data vis platform. What part about this don't you get?
You are tilting at windmills and directing your criticisms at the wrong level. If you want change, change the laws and institutions that allow for this sort of data collection in the first place (of which palantir and orgs like it are not involved with).
Like you can buy shares of Anthropic as long as you prove you make over 200K? That easy? Shouldn't they approve of the purchase? Sorry, noob in this space!
They have to approve and it's not as simple - it's just that if you make $200k a year or have $1m in the bank, the government assumes you're a knowledgeable investor and allows you to bypass certain protections.
If you are NOT knowledgeable and simply have money ... well it'll soon be parted.
The secondary platform verifies you and then you indicate interest. If there’s a seller you may get to buy. Company may ROFR. Priority goes to bigger buyers.
