Bitcoin. Swish (Sweden) sees quite a lot of downtime. Why not settle for something that doesn't have these inherent issues that closed, proprietary systems have?

so something that is a horrible store of value, has monumental transaction fees, non-instant confirmation and is associated by laypersons mostly with speculation, fraud & illegal transactions will solve those?

You just described fiat.

Terrible store of value(worse than bitcoin) Horrible International transaction fees(swift much worse than bitcoin) Most money laundering and criminal activities happen in the current banking system.

That's just a deflection, and a great example of how to slow down crypto adoption.

Because then you have the inherent issues that come from open, federated systems. ;-)

Apple offers the most convenient computing experience available to mankind as of right now. That's why I care, at least. I love their products and services, but not so much when it fails (as in the authors case). That shit is scary.

People are doing it, it's just early.

Bitcoin could be the solution here.

"The solution to, and cause of, all power problems."

Stranded energy is ideal for the bitcoin network.

Hahaha, this is awesome!

Great tool and excellent design . I’ve always wanted something like this.

I really vibe with the author’s vision: an offline-first computer, made to last.

Amen!

” In this episode, my guest is Dr. Jonathan Haidt, PhD, professor of social psychology at New York University and bestselling author on how technology and culture impact the psychology and health of kids, teens, and adults. We discuss the dramatic rise of suicide, depression, and anxiety as a result of replacing a play-based childhood with smartphones, social media, and video games.

He explains how a screen-filled childhood leads to challenges in psychological development that negatively impact learning, resilience, identity, cooperation, and conflict resolution — all of which are crucial skills for future adult relationships and career success. We also discuss how phones and social media impact boys and girls differently and the underlying neurobiological mechanisms of how smartphones alter basic brain plasticity and function.

Dr. Haidt explains his four recommendations for healthier smartphone use in kids, and we discuss how to restore childhood independence and play in the current generation.

This is an important topic for everyone, young or old, parents and teachers, students and families, to be aware of in order to understand the potential mental health toll of smartphone use and to apply tools to foster skill-building and reestablish healthy norms for our kids.”

elementaryOS seems to fit the feature description. Can anyone share their experience with it?

It's ok if you don't know how to install debian and pick a desktop environment or can't install mint mate for some reason.

I daily drove it. Mint + Cinnamon is more stable.
