plex isn't all roses on LG tvs, it's missing a 'watched/not watched' that lg has known about since 2011, but it is pretty damn good.
I've been using plex for some time now, and is one of the reasons I actually chose LG. but they are arsey bastards, integratings ads into their own interface.
What is really so annoying about this, is that sony are COMPLETELY AWARE that this annoys the piss out of the consumer, that they added it as a PAID FUNCTION to the 'playstation plus' that you can have the option to auto-install updates for you.
As an Australian who can't get Netflix without breaking the Netflix Terms of Service I suspect there's going to be an awful lot of downloading going on here, even moreso than the game of thrones situation we had where we were only just behind.
Game of thrones gets downloaded by many tens of thousands in the first 24 hours. Episodes appear about 15 minutes after screening.
House of cards didn't make it to the torrents until 2 days after release and the numbers are nothing like game of thrones. Only half the episodes are available at this time.
As an Australian you could wait for it to be on TV, then it might be shown out of order, at all different (non-scheduled)times and episodes missed and cut.
BM:S is very, very nice looking and fun, but it's still not finished yet, anyone looking bear in mind multiplayer and the Xen levels are not implemented yet.
It's passed steam greenlight, so once finished, should be available for a nice one click install. I look forward to this :)
But if you're reading this thread and excited, you'll probably get a kick out of it.
All the pre-Xen levels are very well finished. If you just want the single player gameplay up to the point of the Lambda Complex, install Black Mesa now :-).
You can get a preview of the gorgeous Xen graphics in one of the rooms of the Questionable Ethics chapter.
Whenever I used to replay the original Half-Life (I think I've completed it 5 or 6 times), I would get as far as Lambda Complex, pretend that was where the game finished, and promptly stop playing.
I think plenty of us hated the Xen levels, and the BM:S team knows how challenging it will be to modernise. I'm looking forward to see what they do!
I personally enjoyed the Xen levels (except the fact that Nihilanth brought my PC to a near standstill when the game came out), but to each their own. I'd be interested to hear your complaints about Xen.
A common complaint involved the tiny little orbiting platforms that had to be jumped between. It turned an excellent FPS into a frustrating 3D platformer and interrupted the rhythm of the game.
We've backed for 2 battery powered ones, and plan on doing that, as well as an alarm clock that will integrate with our lifx backing.
that way the bathroom light can start at 20% when I touch the light when i get up and fade up over a few minutes to 100% while I hate the world a little less during that time in the morning when I get up.
