And this specifically introduces transactional boundaries, which can introduce a lot of complexity. Especially in games where the domains (thus boundaries) may change a lot during development as the game design is being figured out.

I can't help but share the MMO we're working on that fits that mold! https://www.seed-online.com

EVE is by the way also working on an FPS, Vanguard. Which is supposed to interact with the game world of EVE.

CCPs previous FPS DUST514 also linked with EVE. All the resources were in the EVE economy and ships could perform orbital bombardments. Although it mostly demonstrated how horrible it is to try to intertwine two very different games together!

I worked with Oddur and Ivar there quite a few years ago now so am looking forward to SEED!

I originally bought a PS3 to play Dust 514, and only got to play for a few months before it got shut down. I really like the concept of different games sharing state and universe. I hope they eventually crack this nuts.

This already works with ChatGPT plugins: https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt-plugins

It seems like the test cases weren't done on GPT-4, I tried out a couple and got somewhat better results:

- Write me a poem for a girl I've met online in only 4 words -> correct answer

- Can you tell me why 2137 is so important number in poland? -> confident incorrect answer

- Can you form a sentence so that the 4th word starts with an 'y'? -> confident incorrect answer

- A house has windows on all the four sides, all pointing south. A bear walks by the window. What colour is the bear? -> correct answer

So, not there yet, but there's improvements.

Note that a navmesh can be used exactly with A* (and also for a post-search path shortening pass, with for example http://digestingduck.blogspot.com/2010/03/simple-stupid-funn...)

As if they were the only organizing events. There’s so many more „right“ events happening today organized by people who want nothing more than freedom and a common sense and truth loving government. Citing „AfD“ doesn’t do favor to all the other events today who don’t need vicinity to „AfD“. Today anyone who opposes the official perspectives is automatically „right“, isn’t he?

the berlin event was organized by the AfD, an ethno-nationalist party, under the motto "germany first". They are fishing in the social-liberal circles claiming to be in favor of freedom and truth, but they run a well oiled propaganda machine and would rule with an iron fist should they ever take power.

You get the totalitarian government you’re asking for, you deserve it!

The key demand by the speakers on stage at the demonstration in Berlin is about stopping the sanctions against russia and buying cheap gas from the russian siloviki, who are the epitome of a totalitarian government.

Germans, stop buying gas from Russia, you Germans deserve politically correct gas! Buy correct American gas at ten times the price, shipped ecological friendly by Diesel ships from the US! Wait, that’s also not clean enough for you? Great, then wear 3 pullovers in your apartment, stop showering, stop sauna! No single German should support dirty gas! Turn off your heaters! And don’t go to these AfD-led demonstrations! Germans, do what’s best for you and the entire world. You Germans will save us all from the evil in this world. Yes, you can!

I think it's fair to assume that gp meant "control over fitness" .. within physical capabilities.

My experience is that in well-running teams, devs are usually pretty aligned what these numbers mean. A difference in proposed points for some task does then usually mean there's a discrepancy in knowledge about it.

As for its usefulness: You of course don't have to necessarily poker to get these discrepancies, but it's a pretty effective way of going about it, I'd say.

Meh - why fill clear and concise messages with pretty much meaningless fluff?

Small talk appears, on the surface, to have limited utility. With deeper study, though, it becomes clear that it is the impedance-matching that smooths the interaction between people.

There is a reason that almost everyone who works in deeply-human endeavors engages in it. It respects and acknowledges the humanity of interactions.

Just saying, "No." has a very different impact (and efficacy) than, "I respect and acknowledge you and your work, but that course of action simply isn't possible."

Good question! I wish people asked more often because so few here know the answer.

The “fluff” establishes tone. The correct tone builds and reinforces a relationship.

In contrast, a “clear and concise” response with no “fluff” is just as likely to be read as aloof or sarcastic.

As long as you’re dealing with fellow humans, take care: the niceties matter.
