It's sad that RSS is fading away. It simplified ingestion a lot. At the end of the day it focuses on content and a feed provides a quick overview of all the new content that has been published. I don't really understand why people are not into it anymore. Blogs and news sites don't even need to provide HTML pages loaded with JS and CSS when they provide RSS. Why would I bother loading so much stuff when I can get the data straight away without the bloat

Is this comparable to nim https://nim-lang.org/ ?

Both are programming languages. :)

Nim has GC, looks like Python and compiles to C (or JS).

Myrddin has manual memory management, looks quite distinct (but I'm sure it borrows from many languages) and uses QBE as a compiler backend so it just produces binaries.

I have been living in Shanghai for few years now. Alipay and Wechat are really a big thing. It is far from the vision of mobile payment people have in Europe for example, where it is more of solution for small payments.

People are using Alipay and Wechat pay for everything, being online shopping, restaurants, supermarkets, train tickets, electricity, water, even some tax declaration. So it is not just a replacement to cash and bank cards, it is starting to go beyond that.

I go for months without having any cash or bank cards on me. Unfortunately everything falls apart when my phone runs out of battery.

Or phone stolen.

Or wallet stolen (arguing for the other side).

At least if your phone is stolen you still have your money safe, if you cash is stolen - it's a different story
