I am not a developer but here are my impressions as an outsider (I did not downvote either, and I don't believe your post is that bad). This is highly possible that I am totally wrong with my assumptions on the downvote

- Your TIE fighter gets too much attention, most of the other posts here are sober and don't try to attract attention with tricks.

- It seems like you are looking for a "rockstar", and for what I know most of the people are tired of those job descriptions. Maybe changing from the first person to the second person will change that.

- Maybe it is the 7+ years.

- Maybe it is the salary for the requirements (I don't know the usual salary for this situation)

- Maybe it is just the Rebel Alliance

I would also appreciate to have other perspectives on the downvotes (pure curiosity and trying to understand)

Management can be vague but if you are looking for being a manager in a software environment:

- Peopleware by DeMarco and Lister

- The Mythical Man-Month by Brooks

Also for general management you can always go with Peter Drucker.

Are you looking for something specific?

I was more looking about general principle of management, but I would definetly look to this ones too. Which one did you prefer Peopleware or The Mythical Man-Month?

What do you think about First, break all the rules?

I am actually reading The Mythical Man Month but it seems to be more about project management than people. Peopleware was very very good for people management.

I have heard great things about "First, break all the rules" but haven't read it.

Good luck on your management adventure.
