Glad I converted nearly all of the lights in my house to halogen, and stocked up on decades of bulbs, before the ban. Nice warm adjustable light. No strobing LED trash fucking up my eyesight.
Incandescent lights are still widely available if you still want them. Nonetheless, modern high quality LED lights can actually exceed the colour rendering index of incandescent lights, though they tend to be a little more expensive. I don't think it's a big deal to pay $15 for a bulb that will still be there in 15 years.
It started with small and nimble innovators. Then it was shifted to Big Tech with the squeeze of patent trolling in the 2000's applied. It was capturing massive created value into the hands of few, connected, corrupt shitbags.
And for all of Mark Zuckerberg's wealth and property holdings, it wasn't enough and didn't stop him from trying to take sacred land from native Hawaiians on the island of Kauai.
This is why it's important to contribute as little as possible to others, especially the state. They will gladly take everything from you and then tell you you should be happy about it.
