Sorry, but I am going to call this a pile of BS. Do you really have any proof of this? I am really surprised that you are upvoted on this, considering that on HN everyone requires proof of some sort (most of the time). One of his latest interviews was with EuroNews in 2017 (https://youtu.be/2qEM6Unzsm4), and he sounded very impressive for his age, in comparison with what you are trying to convey. And I am sure (judging from his multiple interviews), he could keep track of his time much better than you are anyways. P.S @kingkawn - do you have any interviews/profiles with any major news companies to prove your creds for verification to substantiate your claims?

Nope, just my own life. You can take it or leave it however you want, doesnt change that I lived it.

That doesn't count for much.

Hooray! Let's release another batch of cryptocurrencies and start mining the shit out of those!

Even better if the investors who own the utilities do this -- they'll be potentially profiting on cryptocurrency while profiting on the infrastructure improvements needed to power the cryptocurrency mining.

The way I understood this: "If you are overworked, first look at your team, is everyone at their place and pulling their weight, evaluate your deadlines and promises, check your planning and management and your relationship with stakeholders. Because most of the times it's one of those things that's broken and probably affects the rest".

>>Construction work is not a good metaphor for software/product development. Factory work neither.

I like this, really fed up with everyone comparing software development with construction work and/or building a house. Don't compare those, apples to oranges. Sure, borrow the best, most appropriate things, techniques, methodologies, approaches and not just from construction. Just don't compare.

Avoid metaphors in general. In my experience, metaphors lead to discussion about the correctness of the metaphor instead of the subject the metaphor was referring to. This is a waste of time.

He doesn't say his parents were poor or blue-collar workers, he compares himself to a child of aristocrat. Context is everything.

> He was a child of aristocrats; I am the child of modest workers.

When a one-digit millionaire compares himself to a billionaire like Bill Gates, using "modest" to describe one's wealth would be appropriate in this context.

Child of “modest workers” in a communist country can have different meaning. Maybe they’re party elites? We don’t know. Something just doesn’t add up though.

In another article he writes: "In China, where I was born, there are a lot of people who work much harder but could not enjoy similar results. The difference is that I was lucky enough to have had the chance to move abroad at a young age, thanks my parents. In other words, as Warren Buffett said, a large part of life is the lottery at birth."

He's using the word "modest" to mean "not particularly prestigious" as opposed to "poor".

Site down?

It's a 100% static site, but Apache is still struggling :(. Should have used a bigger droplet...Sorry!

Should have used nginx, or at least put cloudflare in front of it

you can always just use an s3 bucket

Turn off KeepAlive, if it's on.

Bad advice. That's likely to make it a lot worse.

I disagree with you based on experience, but you don't have to take my word for it. 'patio11 also has had some experience here: http://www.kalzumeus.com/2010/06/19/running-apache-on-a-memo...

Also disagree with you based on experience ;)

patio11 blog is HTTP only but this blog is HTTPS.

HTTPS without keepalive is likely to kill any cheap VPS, establishing HTTPS connection is intensive.

That being said, the core of the issue is that they should use nginx (or apache in mpm-events). And they should have cloudflare.

establishing HTTPS connection is intensive

More intensive than adding numbers together, sure, but computers are pretty fast. If you're doing 100k connections a second you might have to give some thought to that. Meanwhile, if you have KeepAlive on, 2~5 clients per second will kill you.

I guess we're going to just wait here until OP delivers the answer for why the machine couldn't answer enough requests :)

Riiight, and bees are on strike against the HONEY!

This works for me in TIO:

public class App { public static void Main(string[] args) { System.Console.WriteLine("Hello World"); } }

As far as I understood, they are really slimming down the core .NET CLR (runtime). Most of current BCL .NET libraries will be exposed as separate nuget packages, which makes it really convenient.

How about all the passport + proof of address data, required for registering with Mt.Gox. Where is it stored and has it been stolen / taken by third party? No one seems to ask any questions about this.
