Just in case you don't get it, I think this is a quote from the movie 'Total recall'

Prof. Jordan Peterson

He has fundamentally changed some of my values and thoughts about me, the world and my place within it.

Highly recommend some lectures or talks from him.

What specifically? What did he say that changed your values and the thoughts about you?

Lex Friedman just released what I consider his best interview so far, just listen as much as you can if you don't have the 3h. It's insanely good.

Mind to share a "quick link" to the mentioned documents?

Sure, the most obvious link is this: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com

Here's a few examples:

Runbooks: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/runbooks - which I've used as inspiration for runbooks on my own team.

Handbook: https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/

Roadmap/Product Vision: https://about.gitlab.com/direction/

A note in their handbook on transparency: https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/values/#transparency

Well written!

I still can't get over the fact that every (haptic!) button is replaced by some touch screen interface. I think it is pretty normal to change the air conditioning while on the road. Now it is kind of dangerous to change it because I need to look for the touch button.

Yeah it looks nice, but until I get haptic feedback from a touchscreen, please don't remove buttons/knobs which are often used while driving.

Someone using KDevelop for PHP development? Is it good? Is it bad?

> Someone using KDevelop for PHP development? Is it good? Is it bad?

I'm using it. It's ok, but missing xdebug support. I prefer it because don't like Java and browsers based IDEs.

Just wanted to let you know that Google Translate is really funny sometimes.

The /de/ page translates "fork away" with "weggabeln" which is really not what you meant (although it is really really funny).

A better translation would be "erstellen Sie Ihren eigenen Fork".

Thanks, I'll fix that right away!

Knowing some French I know that the translations can be a bit.. special sometimes. For this app all I can hope for is than in most cases the poor translations are better than no translations.

Have you checked out https://www.deepl.com/en/translator already?

I haven't heard of it before, but I'll certainly check it out right now, thanks!

DeepL translation

"fork away" -> "Weggabelung" ... not much better :\

Yea I would not even bother with automatic translations.

Translating the app was more an exercise in figuring out the technical and marketing details for translating an app. Hopefully the translations are entirely unusable at least.

I’d hope they weren’t entirely unusable?

Yup, what you said. Don’t listen to me.

Nice tool, I like it. Are there any plans to release some kind of self hosted / licensed version? We do have an internal GitLab/Bitbucket server which is not accessible from outside.

We are planning on releasing a self-hosted solution! We'd love to get in touch to make sure it fills your needs. Could you email us at usecodeflow@gmail.com?

Depending on the phone (works on Android):

Firefox and ublock

There's also Brave. I've taken to using it for my news browsing on my Android device.

Exactly what I was searching for! Do you plan to create a business out of this or is there a chance for open sourcing/self hosting?

thats a good idea to open source it, after cleaning up the code. I plan to keep it running for the foreseeable future since i use it. I have added self-service ads for now.

Will keep an eye on it. Good work! Btw. thanks for the simple registration ;-)

Maybe it's because I'm at work, but wherever I click on the site, it won't work - neither on Firefox, nor on Chrome.

(No TODO items are added, no sorting will be invoked, no chat message is submitted and no tabs can be changed).

That is very strange.

Do you have websockets disabled at the firewall level or something? Do you see any errors in the console?

I am strongly invested in helping you get this working, so consider me willing to help and highly appreciative.

Yeah seems you are right. Can't connect via websockets. Console output:

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at ws://expo.stimulusreflex.com/cable. action_cable.js:241:25

I don't like to punt, but this seems like perhaps it's on your end. Thankfully, we haven't had other complaints of this nature and it sounds like perhaps you have a security layer (firewall, browser plugin perhaps) that is not giving you a neutral testbed.

One surefire way to tell is to try the site in Incognito Mode. You could also try on your phone, although admittedly most of the demos are still slanted towards desktop interaction. That's 100% on us and not the tech itself.
