great oneliner

People refer to them as “dodgy boxes”. They know it’s illegal and no one cares.

Everyone in the country knows this and either has one or a family member has one

Yeah, I think when people are getting hundreds, or thousands of channels cheaper from some off-brand name, or from a referral from a bloke down the pub, they know what's what.

It's like buying something from the local market, those Adidas trackies are either a knock-off copy, or knocked-off stolen, but if they're 1/4 the price then they're still going to sell to someone.

The only thing I'd point out is that a security researcher found that a significant number of those grey market pirate boxes they tested had malware on them. So using them can open you up to a whole lot of risk. After all, there's no accountability for those pirates!

This is very upsetting to see.

I am more and more concerned for my American based friends by the day

> I then told Claude Code to suggest a selection of the most popular programming languages

If you’re going to write an article atleast do the base research yourself man

I think the key difference is the inability to be (easily) deplatformed / locked out which can happen in traditional banking

We want X to exist to contain these people.

The same situation applies to League of Legends and their wonderfully toxic player base

There are plenty of people who love FOSS and terminally on X. Yes they are crazy, paranoid and racist but thats cutting off one of your key markets lol

Well then it's a good thing the FSFE isn't selling commodities on the "market"

Perhaps, but of all people, FOSS devotees should know why Twitter needs to die. The fact that so many people remain on the platform is disheartening to say the least. How bad does it have to get before you refuse to take part?

You can either be a leader or a follower.

This feels a bit over the line from disclosure to sharing corporate documents… feels a lil bit crimey

disclosure is also a crime, but anyway

Just posted a comment saying the exact same myself lmao

My M2 pro tries to ground itself through my arm on occasion when using it while it is charging so I wouldn’t put it passed apple

Some years ago when I still had my 2009 Macbook Pro I noticed that if:

- The laptop was charging

- I was touching the laptop with one hand, and either (my memory is fuzzy on the details by now but it was one of these two circumstances):

- A friend was touching me on the side of the forehead with one hand and touching a crack on the wall with the other hand

OR

- I was the one touching the crack on the wall with my other hand.

Again, I don’t remember which of these last two. BUT I remember the result: I would see banding with my eyes (very similar to what you see with cameras when their shutter doesn’t sync with AC power).

Now, our eyes don’t have shutters so I have no idea what was going on but I saw it.

I’ve had this issue with all my MacBooks since 2010 with ungrounded chargers (because Apple don’t use grounded plugs for whatever reason although the contact exists on the charger).
